Brain Tumor Outcomes

Understanding functional recovery and treatment pathways after brain tumour surgery.

Overview

Brain tumour surgery involves trade-offs between oncological goals, neurological function, quality of life and the ability to proceed with additional treatment. This programme studies those outcomes together rather than in isolation.

Objectives

01. Describe postoperative neurological and functional trajectories.
02. Measure complications, length of stay, discharge destination and patient-reported recovery.
03. Study how baseline status, tumour characteristics and surgical factors relate to outcomes.
04. Evaluate time to subsequent oncological treatment and survival endpoints when clinically appropriate.

Research direction

By combining perioperative and longitudinal outcomes, NORA aims to generate evidence that is relevant to multidisciplinary decision-making and to patients facing complex choices about treatment.

Collaboration

Project-specific collaboration depends on protocol maturity, governance, ethical approvals and data-sharing arrangements. Centres or investigators interested in aligned research questions are welcome to contact the NORA team.
